Absolutely not! My emphasis is on meeting you where you are, helping you learn to eat in a way that centers around the foods you enjoy, fits with your lifestyle and that is sustainable long-term.
I offer three different options. Small Bites, which are one time, 40 min video consultations, Month-long Packages, called Infusions, where we dive deeper into one particular nutrition or health related topic you are interested in, meeting weekly for four weeks. My most comprehensive offering is the 3-month Nutrition Rebuild where I review every aspect of your nutrition, from calorie needs and expenditure, daily nutrition/habits, to activity level, health history, and more. You can learn more about these options here.
No particular diet will be prescribed. I feel it’s important to eat foods that you like, that provide fuel your body and support your health related goals and your values, and that is unique to each person. My emphasis is on educating you on nutritional protocols that meet those objectives.
First of all, when I create your nutrition plan, it’s not the type of plan where you are told exactly what to eat, is restrictive or has pre-made foods delivered to your doorstop. Your plan will be focused on nutrition variables such as calories, macronutrients, a food’s nutritional value as well as variety and timing. You won’t be asked to avoid any foods unless you have difficulty with portion control of a particular food. Even under those circumstances it wouldn’t necessarily mean avoiding the food altogether. If that food is something you really enjoy, we will explore alternatives to help with either the frequency or volume of that food.
I don’t give specific meal plans that must be followed, and you won’t be put on a “diet”. My work is based on a collaborative approach. I see each client as unique and it’s my goal to help you learn a way of eating will work for you, your lifestyle and individual circumstances. And for every action item and recommendation that you’re given, I explain why and the benefits you’ll experience. Education, sustainability and long term health are at the center of everything I do. I am passionate about helping people become the best version of themselves, as they define “best”.
Absolutely! One of my areas of specialty! I am an AFPA-Certified Sports Nutritionist, and am personally experienced in running, biking, triathlon, swimming and weight lifting.
There is no one universal answer, since we are all unique in our health and diet history, genetics, foundational nutritional knowledge, calorie needs, etc. However, making changes in your nutrition can have an impact on physical and mental energy and overall well-being fairly quickly. The #1 way to affect how quickly you see change is by staying consistent with given recommendations. Most people I work mention how much better they feel, after just a couple of weeks of implementing the suggested eating/nutrition related protocols.
Yes! Nutrition and exercise go hand in hand, so whether you’re wondering how to get started with an exercise program or ready to change up an existing routine, I’m here to help!
